Reduplication (project working definition) A reduplicative construction is a set of at least two linguistic forms F and F' in a paradigmatic, i.e. non-suppletive morphological relation in which F' contains a segment or a sequence of segments which is derived from a non-recursive repetition of (a part of) F.
Simplex Form word form which serves as a basis of reduplication (e.g. traki -> ta~traki).
Reduplicated Word Form word form which results from reduplication (e.g. traki -> ta~traki)
Base the portion of the simplex form which is copied (e.g. ta~traki)
Reduplicant the portion of the reduplicated word form which results from copying a base (e.g. ta~traki)
